Artist's Comments

This is my half of an informal art trade with Tulio19mx. He did Princess Daphne from Dragon's Lair for me as a sketch. The original was done by Don Bluth for a videogame (and later a TV show). To match his, I did another Don Bluth creation. This features Space Ace holding Kimmy. Ever notice how they resemble Fred and Daphne? At any rate, like Dragon's Lair, they were a TV cartoon show and videogame, although (a) not as successful at Dragon's Lair, and (b) I'm not sure which came first.

Space Ace did well enough, though Dragon's Lair came first and was essentially the flagship that launched the whole Laserdisc game craze.

I wonder if there were any other laserdisc games. The end of DL was kind of like the end of videogames for me.

Do a search online for laser games or American Laser Games -- I think that's a maker of the arcade consoles. That should give you some info.
