One of my favorite scenes from "Raiders of the Lost Ark" was the drinking scene between the Aussie and Marian Ravenwood, where the former winds up collapsing from having too much, losing to the spry American. So naturally, when sketching out "Raiders of the Lost Bark" (Scooby Doo characters in an Indiana Jones style fanfic), I couldn't resist. But wouldn't it be funnier if Shaggy was involved, and the contestants hd to drink "5 Skull Fire Sauce" (from WNSD's Big Trouble in the Big Easy)? Naturally, the Aussie doesn't go down, but instead "blows up." Consider it my homage to Tex Avery.
Wow--you got Shaggy and Scooby's expressions dead on. I also like how you are able to draw the "Secondary characters" in your own style while, at the same time, remaining faithful to the HB style as well. That guy on the side with the mustache reminds me of a cross between Lao Che (from "Temple of Doom") and Mr. Fong from "Mystery Mask Mix Up."

Actually, the "belching" of fire can be attributed to Bender on Matt Groening's Futurama. Bender would "chug" some "Old Fortran Ale", then belch a fireball. Luckily, he never set Leela or Fry's hair on fire doing that.

I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P

As you'll see in a few subsequent art pieces, I also try to break with HB and go with a few "pulp serials" look mixed with HB tradition.
