While Fred's getting his briefing from the military before their wedding, his blushing bride Daphne gets hand gagged by a mysterious stranger. It's "The Shadow," a classic hero from the 1920s-1940s. And since this story is set during World War II, it's natural for him to make an appearance.

If you ever follow The Shadow stories, or have read the comic books, or seen the movie with Alec Baldwin (a pretty decent film, in my opinion), you know that The Shadow rescues people so that they'll "owe" him their loyalty. And it turns out that The Shadow was the one who secretly loosened Daphne's bonds when she was kidnapped in my first fanfic (Temple of Doo). So she "owes" him one. And her mission is...to kill Josef Stalin!

This is going to be a little tricky, because the military has ordered Fred to Moscow, to protect Stalin! It's going to be a lot like the Brad Pitt + Angelina Jolie movie "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" where the husband and wife are working against each other. Want to know why The Shadow wants Stalin dead?
